NEW DOCTOR/OWNER
Dr. Debra Bohnke purchased Cimarron Animal Hospital on July 20, 2007. While Dr. Bohnke wasn't looking for a clinic to buy, it felt "right". The more she worked with Dr. Swahlen, the previous owner, the more she was sure that this was the right move. Dr. Bohnke and Dr. Swahlen share so many of the same underlying philosophies of veterinary medicine that its uncanny. They both became veterinarians purely out of their love of animals and deep desire to heal. They have both dedicated their lives to providing the best veterinary medicine they can by staying abreast of new techniques and technology through continuing education. Dr. Bohnke takes over 50 hours of continuing education yearly (state licensing only requires 10 hours annually!).

Behavior Modification Therapy

Dr. Bohnke has extensive training in the treatment of behavior problems in pets. She has been treating Tucson pets with undesirable behaviors fro 10 years. She brings with her the knowledge and insight into the animal psyches to be able to assist with such behavior issues as separation anxiety, inappropriate elimination, aggression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and fears and phobias.

Your Behavioral Consultation with Dr. Bohnke will get you on the road toward a better, less frustrating, more loving relationship with your socially-challenged pet.

During your Consultation, Dr. Bohnke will formulate a comprehensive plan of Behavior Training, environmental modification, and medical therapy (if needed) that is workable in your lifestyle.

Pocket Pet Medicine and Surgery

From time to time, even the smallest pets need medical care. Dr. Bohnke understands how these little creatures can fill big places in our hearts and our families. Dr. Bohnke provides medicine and surgery for Rabbits, Rodents, and Ferrets.

Nutritional Medicine

Proper nutrition is the key to preventative medicine. We can recommend quality diets in every price range to maintain good health.

Dr. Bohnke is also a strong proponent of nutritional supplementation to help improve health and treat specific conditions. She can help guide you in sorting out the myths from the realities in pet nutrition. She can help you choose an effective, cost efficient product.

Medical Expense Savings Accounts (MESA)

We now offer an option to help you save for your pet's future expenses. With money already saved in your account, you may not even have to bring your wallet to your pets next wellness visit! In case of an unexpected illness. This is an extra cushion. MESA plans are great for pet owners on fixed incomes, for tight budgets (just add it to the monthlys, instead of one big hit, all at once!), for students with limited incomes, or those of us who just like a little help saving up.
