Meet Our Veterinary Health Care Team

Meet Dr. Deb

Dr. Debra Bohnke – Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Bohnke decided to be a veterinarian when she was 9 years old. She pursued her dream through high school internships and college employment, through veterinary school and back home to Tucson. Dr. Bohnke graduated from Colorado State University in 1991. She has been practicing in Arizona ever since. Her extensive experience in Arizona makes her very aware of the health challenges faced by our Arizona pets such as Valley Fever, Rattlesnake Bite, and Tick Fever. Dr. Bohnke stays abreast of veterinary technology and medicine through journals, on-line bulletin boards and over 35 hours of continuing education lectures annually!

There is nothing more gratifying to DrBohnke than being able to use the magic of modern medicine to heal ailing patients.  Sharing in the joy with Pet Parents as their pets regain their health and the vitlality in their eyes makes every day of her job a heart-felt pleasure.

In her free time, Dr. Bohnke enjoys scuba diving, sci-fi and historical fiction books, Medieval reenactment, Cowboy Action target shooting, and Best Of All—her son Celyn.

Dr. Crawford

Dr. James Crawford – Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Crawford strongly believes in the health benefits of having pets. “Our pets ground us, give us love, companionship, and amusement. They foster in us a wonderment at life in general.” Dr. Crawford enjoys helping people get the most from their pets, from understanding their normal behaviors, maximizing nutrition, and keeping them as healthy and trouble-free as possible. Dr. Crawford received his DVM from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University in 2009. He has a varied practice background that includes small animal preventative medicine and emergency medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Crawford enjoys exploring old ghost towns, cowboy poetry, and western lore. He and Mrs. Crawford share their home with three dogs, give or take – you never know when you can make room for one more!
